Empowering Accountants was founded by Dorothy Christopoulos after working exclusively with accounting firms for over 20 years.\u00a0 We provide practice management support for firms in the areas of debtors, workflow, WIP and strategic problem solving.\u00a0 Our approach is very hands-on to ensure that changes are lasting and results focused.<\/p>\n

We support firms by combining specialist solutions with implementation, team training and mentoring.\u00a0 Lasting change can only be achieved if the team understands the changes and are supported in the implementation process.<\/p>\n

Empowering Accountants provides recommendations, actions, accountability, training and mentoring to implement change in accounting firms. We drive the process, so that you don\u2019t have to. We have observed that results improve when accountants receive training in essential skills and are provided with scripts to deal with challenging client conversations.<\/p>\n

      Dorothy specializes in solving the day-to-day practice management problems of accounting \ufb01rms. After working for several \ufb01rms (including PWC) as an accountant, Dorothy started her own consulting \ufb01rm in 1990. After 10 years coaching SMEs, she transitioned to working exclusively with accounting \ufb01rms in 2000. Since then, she has worked with hundreds of \ufb01rms to solve problems and implement change.<\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      As a result of working closely with principals, partners and sta\ufb00 of \ufb01rms to achieve speci\ufb01c targets, Dorothy realized that many accountants knew what was expected of them but many didn\u2019t have the skills to deliver. To meet this need, she started writing and presenting soft skills training in the areas of Work\ufb02ow Management, Client Management, Communication and Practice Management. Dorothy also designs bespoke training for individual \ufb01rms and their speci\ufb01c needs. Organisations that Dorothy has worked with in the past include Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, RSM Australia PKF and BDO.
